Join Jo Riches, Improvement Programmes Manager at Prostate Cancer UK, Maria Innes, Prostate Clinical Nurse Specialist at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, and Mr. Wissam Abou-Chedid, Consultant Urological Surgeon at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, as they discuss the transformative practice of self-catheter removal in prostate cancer care. This webinar will explore how empowering patients to manage their own catheter removal improves both patient experience and the efficiency of Urological services.

Jo Riches brings her background in healthcare improvement and humanitarian work to examine the broader system-level impacts of this initiative, while Maria Innes offers a nurse’s perspective on pre-habilitation, patient education, and supporting recovery. Mr. Wissam Abou-Chedid, a leading robotic surgeon, will share the surgical and clinical reasoning behind this practice, alongside key outcomes and feedback from patients.

In this session, you will learn about the challenges faced during the development and implementation of self-catheter removal programs, and the lessons learned along the way. The speakers will also address barriers to adoption, such as clinician hesitancy and patient concerns, and provide actionable recommendations for integrating these practices into your clinical settings. You will gain insights on adapting protocols to local needs, patient training, and tracking measurable outcomes.

This session is a must for Urology teams and healthcare professionals looking to enhance their practice through patient-centred care and efficient service delivery.
