In this engaging session, we welcome Tony, Junior and Patrick to share their personal journeys on prostate cancer, focusing on pivotal moments such as their initial conversations with GPs about the PSA blood test and their experiences leading to diagnosis and treatment.
The conversation will highlight the diversity of patients’ experiences, shedding light on both supportive interactions with healthcare providers and the barriers that prevent some from accessing vital information.
The panel will further explore how inconsistencies in NHS guidelines may contribute to healthcare inequalities, particularly for men at high risk of prostate cancer.
By watching this session, you will learn about the latest advancements in diagnostic pathways, including the implications for informed decision-making regarding PSA testing. The session will conclude with an exploration of the evolving consensus around the necessity of the digital rectal exam (DRE), examining whether its reduction in use is beneficial for both men and GPs.
